A Note from the Front Office
School Pictures will occur on Friday, November 3. There is a code that will go home with your child(ren) next week to allow you to access the website and pick backgrounds and the eventual ordering of pictures.
A Note from Transitions
We will be hosting our 2nd Annual High School Alumni Afternoon on Friday, November 3 from 4:30-7:00 pm. This is an opportunity for current freshmen and sophomores in high school who graduated 8th grade from LABCS to come to talk to our current 7th and 8th grade students. Please look for more information on this over the next few days from either Ms. Heidi ( [email protected]) or Mrs. Standridge ( [email protected]).
A Note from the Reading Coach and Literacy Committee
We are excited to announce our Literacy Leaders Club Members, which is made up of 12 of our 8th grade students. They are already working hard to complete interviews of our very own LAB student innovators, as well as making posters for Family Literacy Day on November 1. We look forward to celebrating this day and look for more information to come soon.
A Note from the Golf Tournament Committee
It's not too late to be a part of the 4th Annual Tee Up for Dyslexia Fundraising Golf Tournament!
For this year's event to be the best yet, we need a few more teams and a few more sponsors. Please share these opportunities with your friends and loved ones. It will be a great day on the course for the best cause around: our Lakes & Bridges student innovators!
- Team registration ($500) -- teams can pay by check or can pay online.
- Sponsorship information (beginning at $300).
- Lakes & Bridges families can sponsor a Family Hole in honor of your student, the entire student body, or the teachers and staff.
- To donate prizes or items to be included in players' gift bags, please contact Debbie Vaughn ([email protected] or text/call 843-343-7458).
Another 8th Grade Field Trip Fundraiser
On Friday, November 10, the 8th Grade will be hosting a Parents' Night Out from 4:00-8:00 pm This is an opportunity for parents of current 1st-4th grade students to leave their child at school where there will be planned activities, dinner, and a movie provided for the students while you go out to dinner, get things done around the house, or just have less children in the house. Who knows? We might do a school-wide or section-of-the-school-wide game of hide and seek! The fee for this is $30/child, and it includes everything. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate non-LABCS siblings. We will send home a sign-up sheet next week to reserve your child's spot.
What Can I Do at Home with My Child(ren)?
If you would like to have some activities to reinforce what your child is learning at school, have them get on any one of the following sites to have continued practice in typing, academics, or reading (they should all have their login information to each of these sites since they use them as enrichment). If they don't remember their login information, please reach out to their homeroom teacher to get it. They should be able to access each of these from a personal device at home.
