Dress Code Reminders
Just a reminder that students are not allowed to wear pants or jeans that have rips or tears in them, even on Friday Dress Down Day. We are seeing more and more students wearing pants with rips and tears. Please make sure they do not leave the house in ripped/torn pants. Also, no leggings are allowed on any day, to include Friday Dress Down Day, unless a dress or skirt is worn over them.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation with this.
A Note from the Office Manager
There will be NO SCHOOL LUNCHES served next Monday or Tuesday, October 30 and 31. All students will need to bring a lunch from home.
A Note from Student Council
Election Day Update
Date Change
Due to an 8th grade field trip, Election Day will be moved up by one day. School elections will now take place on Monday, November 6th.
A reminder to the candidates that videos are due on Monday, October 30th. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS. Late videos will not be accepted. Additionally, student behavior must reflect that of respect for all school rules and policies during the campaign period. If candidates receive any disciplinary action, they will be removed from the ballot.
Middle School Social
Friday, November 17th
3:45-5:30 pm
$10.00
Students in grades 6-8 are invited to stay after school on Friday, November 17, for some fun, food, and games. Students will be served pizza, popcorn, and hot chocolate. Outdoor games will be set up, as well as some indoor games and music. The cost is $10 per student and can be paid through MySchoolBucks. If parents are interested in volunteering at this event, please email [email protected].
Another 8th Grade Field Trip Fundraiser
On Friday, November 10, the 8th Grade will be hosting a Parents' Night Out from 4:00-8:00 pm This is an opportunity for parents of current 1st-4th grade students to leave their child at school where there will be planned activities, dinner, and a movie provided for the students while you go out to dinner, get things done around the house, or just have less children in the house. Who knows? We might do a school-wide or section-of-the-school-wide game of hide and seek! The fee for this is $30/child, and it includes everything. Unfortunately, we will not be able to accommodate non-LABCS siblings. We were not able to get the sign-up form home this week, so we will send it home the beginning of next week to reserve your child's spot.
What Can I Do at Home with My Child(ren)?
If you would like to have some activities to reinforce what your child is learning at school, have them get on any one of the following sites to have continued practice in typing, academics, or reading (they should all have their login information to each of these sites since they use them as enrichment). If they don't remember their login information, please reach out to their homeroom teacher to get it. They should be able to access each of these from a personal device at home.
