MAP testing will be December 4-8. Please make sure your child gets to school on time and try not to schedule any appointments during that week.
What Can I Do at Home with My Child(ren)?
If you would like to have some activities to reinforce what your child is learning at school, have them get on any one of the following sites to have continued practice in typing, academics, or reading (they should all have their login information to each of these sites since they use them as enrichment). If they don't remember their login information, please reach out to their homeroom teacher to get it. They should be able to access each of these from a personal device at home.
Santa Grams will be on sale beginning December 4 through December 21. These will be $2.00 and consist of a note and a flavored candy cane. Santa Grams can be purchased during morning drop-off in the Dragon's Den. Santa Grams will be delivered each Friday until we leave for our holiday break.
Thank you to those who signed up to bring in items for our Apple Bar! Please don't forget to send them in on Monday, November 27!

After-School and/or Saturday Tutoring
We have been approved for after-school and/or Saturday tutoring for current Lakes and Bridges students at no cost for you. The after-school tutoring sessions will run from 4:00-5:00, and the Saturday sessions will run for three hours from 9:00-12:00 or at the discretion of you and the tutor. If you are interested in your child receiving extra help, please reach out to Ms. Heidi or Mrs. Disbrow. We have a number of teachers who are willing to do this tutoring. The first choice will be with the child's subject-area teacher if he/she is available. If that teacher is not available, we will assign another teacher to them.
Cell Phones and Apple Watches
We have had several incidences of abuse of cell phones and Apple watches recently. As a result, we have had to strictly enforce the Student/Parent Handbook regarding these two (see below). We understand that some students wear them in School Mode so that they can still track health information. Please bear with us as we try to figure out a policy that addresses the watches in a way that doesn't penalize those students who have been responsible for wearing them while not encouraging misuse by those who consistently do so.
(Policy in the handbook that was signed by both the student and parent that acknowledged understanding of the contents):
With the exceptions outlined below, the Lakes and Bridges Charter School policy prohibits the use of the following electronic devices during school hours: cell phones, iPods, iPhones/other Phones, Apple Watches or similar, CD players, digital cameras, electronic games and toys, laser pointers, laptop computers, tablets, iPads, or any other electronic devices. If your child’s IEP requires the use of such a device, Lakes and Bridges Charter School will provide the device for use during school hours.
School hours are defined as beginning with the student’s arrival on campus and ending when the student has entered their parent’s/guardian’s/carpool’s car to leave for the day. Students must adhere to the school’s established communication devices/cell phones protocol as directed. Failure to adhere to the policy established will result in confiscation of the device.
Chronic issues of failure to adhere can result in further disciplinary actions.
Cold Weather and Recess
Please note that students will go outside for recess unless the temperature drops below 32 degrees (to include wind chill). Please make sure your child brings a jacket to school. All students will go outside regardless of whether they have a jacket or not. We do not have enough staff available during recess to leave some students inside and some outside.
Lost and Found
We have a lot of clothes and water bottles in our lost and found. Please come in to check if any of these are your child's. The lost and found is located in our front lobby. Items in lost and found will be donated to the Dream Center at the end of the second week of December.
Dress Code Reminders
Just a reminder that students are not allowed to wear pants or jeans that have rips or tears in them, even on Friday Dress Down Day. We are seeing more and more students wearing pants with rips and tears. Please make sure they do not leave the house in ripped/torn pants. Also, no leggings are allowed on any day, to include Friday Dress Down Day, unless a dress or skirt is worn over them.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation with this.
