A Note from the Principal
End-of-Quarter Survey
If you have not yet filled out the end-of-first-quarter survey, please click here. We are asking for parent names so that we can address any concerns.
Thank you to the alumni and 7th and 8th grade students that attended High School Alumni Night on Friday, November 8. The advice given by our alumni, ranging from freshmen to juniors, was insightful and helpful. I will be sending a summary of the evening to our current 7th and 8th grade parents, especially for those who were not able to attend.
A Note from the School Nurse
Students are not allowed to carry ANY medication them without physician permission, parent/guardian permission, and school permission to self-administer and self-monitor (SC Law S144). This includes over-the-counter pain relievers and allergy and cold medications. Over-the-counter medications can be stored in the nurse's office with parent permission (physician permission is not needed). The ONLY medications that can be in the student’s possession (with the physican permission) are for asthma, diabetes, and severe allergic reactions. If you need a medication permission form or have any questions please contact Nurse Dava at [email protected] for the form.

A Note from the Development Director
We have kicked off our Annual Fundraising Campaign!! Please consider giving to our Annual Campaign! No gift is too small (or too big!). These funds provide flexible support to help bridge the gap between the limited public funding we receive and the cost of providing the distinctive education that makes Lakes & Bridges such a unique place for our students, families, teachers, and staff. You may give online here, you may give by a check made out to Lakes and Bridges Charter School with "Annual Campaign" in the memo line, you may give by cash in an envelope with your name and "Annual Campaign" on it and given to the front office, or you may even contact Debbie Vaughn ( [email protected]) to transfer a gift of stock.
Thank you for supporting our student innovators and those who serve them!
A Note from the PTA
We're excited to kick off our Turkey Feather Contest fundraiser next week! Here's everything you need to know to help make this event a fun success.
When?
- Collections start: Monday, November 11
- Collections end: Wednesday, November 20
Where?
- We'll have a collection table set up in the front lobby with clearly marked containers for each grade level. Students can add change or cash to their grade's container - every $0.25 counts as one feather! Let's encourage some friendly competition, as the grade with the most feathers will win a party and get to see their teachers dress up like turkeys!
Accepted Donations?
- All coins and cash are welcome! Each $0.25 equals one feather, so every little bit counts.
Winning Grade and Celebration?
- Our PTA will tally up the feathers and announce the winning grade on Thursday, November, so the party can take place on Friday, November 22.
Let's rally together for a great cause! If you have any questions or need more information, please don't hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your support and participation in making this fundraiser memorable for our students!
Corporate Sponsorships
If you or someone you know would like be a corporate sponsor for our Lakes and Bridges PTA, please click here.
A Note from the Student Wellness Coordinator
The SEL word of the week is: Outcome (n); the way things turn out, the result
Competency: Decision Making
This week in SEL, students will put all their bullying prevention knowledge to the test as we act out skits in order to apply the strategies we have learned for diffusing a bullying situation.
Angel Tree
Lakes and Bridges will be hosting an Angel Tree to help families in need at Christmas time. We try to serve our school community first. If you are or know of a family at Lakes and Bridges that could use assistance, please email [email protected]. As we prepare for the holiday season, look for more information to come on this!
A Note from the Student Council
Veterans Drop-In Breakfast
On Monday, November 11, the Student Council and Jr. Interact Club will be hosting a drop-in breakfast for our Veterans from 8-10 am. Please share this information with any veterans you know! At Lakes and Bridges, we love to show our support to those brave men and women who have served to protect our country.
If you'd like to send in breakfast donations for this event (muffins, donuts, coffee, fruit, etc.) please email [email protected].
LEAP Club Needs
We are looking for donations of any random arts and craft supplies you may have at home! Also, please send in empty paper towel, toilet paper rolls, and bottle caps from milk jugs or soda bottles. Thank you!
