Parking Lot Reminders
Please make sure you are following the designated lanes for traveling through the school's parking lot. Do not cut down the aisle to avoid the curvy part of the traffic pattern by the field for both morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. The only ones with permission are teachers who need to park. There have been some close calls from parents cutting down the aisle and not following the designated lane. Also, please watch your speed. It has been observed that some cars are driving fast on the property. Finally, observe the entrance and exit points - cars are leaving the property through the front entrance, which creates a hazard for cars entering the property. All cars must exit onto Frank Parrott Road on the drop-off/pick-up side of the building. Furthermore, do not enter the property through the exit. The SCDOT established the traffic pattern, entrance, and exit for the property for the safety of students, teachers, and parents. Please adhere to their protocol established by the SCDOT.
A Note from the Front Office
Letters of Intent for families will be sent out via a Google Form on Monday, February 26, and will be due Friday, March 1. Please check your emails for the link on Monday, February 26.
A Note from the Testing Coordinator
Also, please make a note of the other testing dates this year. No appointments or trips should be planned during these dates. Just a reminder that state testing will be done on Chromebooks this year and not paper/pencil, so any extra practice typing, either through typing.com or you dictating lists (for example, grocery lists, things to do on the weekend, etc.), will be helpful.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Wendye Henderson, our Testing Coordinator, at [email protected].
What Can I Do at Home to Help My Child?
If you would like to have some activities to reinforce what your child is learning at school, have them get on any one of the following sites to have continued practice in typing, academics, or reading (they should all have their login information to each of these sites since they use them as enrichment). If they don't remember their login information, please reach out to their homeroom teacher to get it. They should be able to access each of these from a personal device at home.
A Note from the Reading Coach
Greenville Drive Reading All-Stars Challenge
At LABCS we know that LEADERS MAKE READERS...so, we are challenging our students to read as much as they can by February 23. We are partnering with Learning Ally and the Greenville Drive Reading All-Stars to challenge our readers to become better leaders!
Visit http://www.greenvilledrive.com/ras for details about All-Stars Celebration Game. Your family can attend if your child submits their completed reading log by February 23rd.

A Note from the Student Council
Eyeglass Recycling
Our Lakes and Bridges Student Council President recently attended the monthly meeting for the Lions Club of Easley. The Lions Club has many fundraisers and community efforts and we are happy to partner with them in their mission to provide eyeglasses to those in need. If you have any eyeglasses you are no longer using, please consider donating them. We have a collection bucket in the lobby. Any donated eyeglasses will be processed by the Lions Club for distribution to optical missions around the world. We are so proud of our Student Council President for her initiative and so glad to help our community at large!

Clothing Guidelines
Please note the skirt/skort/jumper length for students. We are seeing very short mini skirts/skorts being worn to school.
Skirts, skorts, and jumper dresses must be khaki, navy blue, grey, or black and possess a hem. Skirts and skorts should be worn at the normal waistline. Additionally, please note the following: Skirts, skorts, and jumpers should not be higher than 2" above the knees.
Apple (and Smart) Watches
Please review the Board Approved updated policy on Apple (Smart) Watches.
After-School Tutoring
If your LABCS child is receiving after-school tutoring at LABCS, this begins at 4:00. Students will be required to go to the Dragon's Den for dismissal. At 3:45, they will head to the lobby where they will wait until the teacher gets them at 4:00.
