Parking Lot Reminders
Please make sure you are following the designated lanes for traveling through the school's parking lot. Do not cut down the aisle to avoid the curvy part of the traffic pattern by the field for both morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. The only ones with permission are teachers who need to park. There have been some close calls from parents cutting down the aisle and not following the designated lane. Also, please watch your speed. It has been observed that some cars are driving fast on the property. Finally, observe the entrance and exit points - cars are leaving the property through the front entrance, which creates a hazard for cars entering the property. All cars must exit onto Frank Parrott Road on the drop-off/pick-up side of the building. Furthermore, do not enter the property through the exit. The SCDOT established the traffic pattern, entrance, and exit for the property for the safety of students, teachers, and parents. Please adhere to the protocol established by the SCDOT.
A Note from the Front Office
Letters of Intent for families will be sent out via a Google Form on Monday, February 26, and will be due Friday, March 1. Please check your emails for the link on Monday, February 26.
A Note from the Testing Coordinator
Also, please make a note of the other testing dates this year. No appointments or trips should be planned during these dates. Just a reminder that state testing will be done on Chromebooks this year and not paper/pencil, so any extra practice typing, either through typing.com or you dictating lists (for example, grocery lists, things to do on the weekend, etc.), will be helpful.
If you have any questions, please reach out to Mrs. Wendye Henderson, our Testing Coordinator, at [email protected].

Eyeglass Recycling
Our Lakes and Bridges Student Council President recently attended the monthly meeting for the Lions Club of Easley. The Lions Club has many fundraisers and community efforts and we are happy to partner with them in their mission to provide eyeglasses to those in need. If you have any eyeglasses you are no longer using, please consider donating them. We have a collection bucket in the lobby. Any donated eyeglasses will be processed by the Lions Club for distribution to optical missions around the world. We are so proud of our Student Council President for her initiative and so glad to help our community at large!

A Note from the Gala Committee
Fiesta Elegante Friday, May 3rd | 6:30 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. The Pavilion at Walker Century Farms | 110 Walker Road, Anderson, SC 29621
We're back for our 6th annual Lakes and Bridges fundraising gala-- a Fiesta Elegante you won't want to miss! Put on your dancing shoes and come support our Lakes & Bridges student innovators. Fiesta Elegante will offer a delicious meal, a live and silent auction, and an open bar with beer and wine. Individual tickets are available here.
We are looking for sponsors! Sponsorships begin at just $500 and go up to $2500. What a great way to promote your business as a supporter of literacy in the SC Upstate. Sponsorships help cover event costs so that the maximum amount of funds raised go to what matters most: our students and our school. All sponsors will receive a donation receipt (minus the non-deductible value of the sponsorship) for their sponsorship.
We are also seeking auction items. Do you have a vacation home that you'd be willing to donate for a weekend or week? Do you have a luxury item such as a handbag or piece of jewelry that is just sitting in your closet that you'd like to give to the cause? Do you own a business and can donate a gift certificate for products or services? All donors will receive an in-kind donation receipt for their tax records.
If you'd like to sponsor our fundraising event, donate for the live or silent auction, or have questions, please reach out to Debbie Vaughn at [email protected]. Thank you!
