Dyslexia Tidbit
Test-Taking Strategies
- Try to get a good night’s sleep the night before.
- On the morning of the test make sure you eat a good meal. This will help your blood sugar stay stable and will boost your brain capacity.
- Keep a positive attitude while taking the test. If you’re unsure of an answer or begin to feel nervous, take a few deep breaths to relax.
- Read the question carefully and analyze what the question wants in the answer. If the question has several parts, use these parts to structure your answer.
- Take your time rather than rushing through the test.

Thank you
- to the Christoph Family for the amazingly delicious cheesecake for the faculty and staff; and
- to all the Community Members who came to help our Jr. Interact Club pack 400 bags of shelf-stable items for Pickens County Meals on Wheels!
Our apologies in advance to anyone accidentally left off.

A Note from the Gala Committee
Our 5th annual fundraising gala is a mere two weeks away! If you are planning to attend An Enchanted Evening but haven't yet purchased tickets, please do so as soon as possible. You may purchase tickets online at https://tinyurl.com/LABCS2023 or you may write a check made payable to Lakes and Bridges Charter School with "An Enchanted Evening" in the memo line.
A Note from the Front Office
Please remember to send your child to school with a snack and appropriate silverware if needed. The school does not keep these available for students.
A Note from the Nurse
We are seeing a couple of cases of Strep throat each week for several weeks now. If your student is complaining of a sore throat, please consider getting them swabbed for Strep throat If left untreated, it can cause more serious conditions. If they do test positive, please let me know as I monitor cases in the school([email protected]).
A Note from the Student Wellness Coordinator
Students in grades 3-8 will be taking the last round of SEL surveys for this school year this week. These surveys measure student perception on strengths and weaknesses in social emotional skills such as self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, responsible decision making, and relationship skills. There surveys are not shared with entities outside the school. The Student Wellness Coordinator and school leadership analyze the data in order to provide SEL lessons that are relevant and helpful for our students success.
8th Grade Semi-Formal
Save The Date! “A Night on the Town” will be Saturday, May 20th, tentatively beginning at 6:30 pm in Downtown Easley. Semi-formal attire is required. Tickets are $25.00. More information to follow this week.
Math Alive Day!! - Wednesday, April 24
Lakes and Bridges Math Alive Day will take place on May 24, 2023. Students in grades 1-5 will rotate through stations where they do hands-on math-related activities.
Some of the stations will be math games that can easily be done at home with families to enrich their math skills. We hope to provide each student with a math kit to play over the summer. We are looking for approximately 150 decks of cards, 300 six-sided dice, and 150-gallon ziplock bags. If you want to donate, please contact Ms. Maggie at [email protected].
Various places for reasonably priced supplies are Dollar Tree and Amazon. Look for more information soon.
